New WebSP Feature:
Scheduling Timeslot Structures

The Scheduling component of WebSP makes it easy to automatically schedule complex multi-station exams, change your schedule in the last minute or even during the event. Automatic Scheduling in WebSP is based on the certain assumption that you want all learners to visit all cases running, only once. However, there can be special situations when you want to schedule something unique: for example learners should return to their first station at the end of the exam. With the Manual Scheduling tool, you can do this and much more within the schedule. A recent development of the Scheduling Module allows you to even automate recording within the scheduled sessions and have the advantages of the Intercom bound together with the new Timelsot Structures.

Now, there is an option to tie a specific structure to each of the timeslots in your schedule. Available actions for setting up a timeslot structure allow you to start and stop video recording and send pre-recorded audio messages to hallway and in-room computers.

On the Timeslot Template Authoring Page, you can easily add different actions for each timeslot. There are a number of ways you can combine the actions within one structure. It can be as simple as one audio announcement, or as complex as starting the video recording, sending several announcements to both hallway and in-room stations and stopping the recording. After setting up your Timeslot Structure Templates, on the Timeslots Page, you can assign one structure to one timeslot. The actions will be carried out for the timeslot and you can check the structure for your session from the Live Event Control Page.

The timing of the actions is relative to the timeslot start time. On the Live Event Control Page, the actual times for the timeslot start and each action within are displayed.

We hope you enjoy the flexibility and freedom provided by this new scheduling feature! If you would like to see another feature profiled or if you would like to profile a feature you are passionate about using, please email Donna, donna.b.lanasa@lionis.net.
